Failing Grades; Blame Who?

Failing Grades
Who deserves failing grades? Aren't they LAZY students? Many of my classmates got failing grades this past grading. A lot of them blame the teachers for failing them.I just talked to a classmate yesterday (since that was the Card Release day) and asked him if he got failing grades, then he said "yes". He added "STUPID TEACHER". I know he was already aware that he is getting failing grades. But why he didn't take action, at all? And in fact the teacher whom he called stupid gave him a chance to get extra credits? So now you can conclude who's to be blame, the teacher or him?
